Jian Zhang

Jian Zhang works at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy as a data analyst in the Industrial Policy Lab. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Eastern Finland. Jian has led practical sessions in the Pattern Recognition and Advanced Deep Learning courses and brings experience from previous data analytics projects. His research and technical interests include machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), data mining, and data visualization. At the Industrial Policy Lab, he is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, developing monitoring tools and methodologies, and producing visualizations and evidence-based analyses to support industrial policy recommendations.
